When I resigned from Voicemail International, I wasn’t sure how the industry would remember my role.  Shortly afterward, I was invited to a private dinner attended by many of the people who had helped shape the emerging voicemail industry; competitors, partners, and pioneers—people who had been in the trenches from the beginning. 

It was November 14, 1987 and an award was presented by many who had dedicated their lives to supporting the emerging voicemail industry. The award read;  Paul Finnigan Father of Voicemail, Voicemail International (1979–1987).

It wasn’t something I had to claim— the Voicemail world knew!
